The Carbon Pricing Platform
The EU CBAM at a Glance
The EU CBAM is an environmental policy that aims to prevent the risk of "carbon leakage", which occurs when operators with installations regulated under the EU carbon market move their production outside of the EU to avoid the carbon price applied to their GHG emissions, or when EU products get replaced by more carbon-intensive imports.
To prevent the risk of "carbon leakage", the EU CBAM will equalize the carbon price applied to EU imports and EU domestic products.
