We're looking for a CBAM expert to be the person our non-EU clients turn to: the operators of installations exporting into the EU. Cement plants, steel mills, aluminium smelters, fertiliser producers — the sites that now have to measure, document, and defend their CBAM embedded emissions. This is a technical role, not a hand-holding one. Our customers are plant managers, process engineers, and sustainability leads who need someone who actually understands the CBAM methodology — system boundaries, precursors, source streams, the difference between what the Implementing Regulation says and what their control systems can actually produce. You'll be that person. You'll help them get onboarded, get their data model right the first time, and make sure that when they have a CBAM question, they get the right answer. Much of that work happens inside our platform for manufacturers, so you'll need to know it inside out. Operators map their factory visually — inputs, production processes, outputs — instead of wrestling with spreadsheets. From there the platform draws on a centralised database of calculation factors for electricity, fuels and raw materials, along with CBAM benchmarks and default values for precursors, and automates specific embedded emissions and free allocation calculations in line with the CBAM methodology. On top of that sits the analytics layer: supplier comparisons, CBAM cost per product and per export, and emissions hotspots across suppliers and products. At the end of the cycle, it generates what verifiers will ask for — the operator's emissions report, the summary, the monitoring plan, and the supporting documentation. Your job is to make that whole chain work for real factories with imperfect data. If you like owning outcomes end-to-end, can hold your own in a technical conversation with a plant engineer, and want to be the authority on a regulation that is reshaping industrial trade, this might be the right seat for you. This is a fully remote position based in Egypt.

A conversation to establish how well you know about CBAM. We'll work through the concepts the role depends on: the scope of the regime and how goods fall into it, the obligations of authorised declarants, operators and verifiers, the difference between direct and indirect embedded emissions, how system boundaries and production processes are defined, the treatment of precursors, calculation versus measurement-based approaches, free allocation, default versus actual values, etc.
Theory put to work. We'll give you a case built on a real industrial installation — its production figures, fuel and electricity consumption, purchased precursors, and the gaps and inconsistencies that come with real plant data — and ask you to work through it: define the production processes and boundaries, handle the precursors, calculate the specific embedded emissions, and decide what to do where the data doesn't cooperate. Use whatever tools you prefer; we care about the reasoning, not the format. We'll then go through it together — the decisions you made, the assumptions behind them, and how you'd explain the result to a plant manager.
