CBAM compliance for Egyptian manufacturers exporting to the EU
The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism has entered its definitive phase, and your European customers now need verified emissions data. We combine software with hands-on consultancy to get you there — in Arabic and English.
Why Egyptian exporters can't afford to wait
CBAM is no longer a future concern — it is already shaping who European buyers source from.
The definitive regime is here
Since January 2026, EU importers must declare the embedded emissions of CBAM goods they bring in, with certificate costs following from 2027. Reporting is no longer a trial run.
Core Egyptian industries are covered
Iron and steel, aluminium, cement and fertilisers — some of Egypt's most important export sectors to Europe — all fall under CBAM.
Default values cost you
Without actual, verified data from your factory, your EU customers must fall back on default values that are typically set high — making your products more expensive than competitors who can prove lower emissions.
EU customers are already asking
European buyers are requesting supplier emissions data today, and they prefer suppliers who are ready. Being able to answer quickly protects your existing contracts and wins new ones.

Questions from Egyptian manufacturers
The answers we give most often to exporters in Egypt.
Does CBAM apply to Egyptian manufacturers?
The legal obligation sits with your EU customers — the importers — but they cannot comply without data from you. In practice, European buyers now expect their non-EU suppliers to provide embedded emissions data for CBAM goods. Manufacturers who can provide verified data keep and win EU business.
Which Egyptian exports are covered by CBAM?
CBAM covers iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity, including many downstream products such as screws, bolts and structures of iron, steel or aluminium. If you export any of these to the EU, CBAM affects your business.
What do my EU customers actually need from me?
They need the embedded emissions of the specific products you ship them, calculated following the CBAM methodology, backed by a monitoring plan and supporting documentation — and, in the definitive period, verified by an accredited verifier.
What happens if I don't provide actual data?
Your customers must fall back on default values, which are generally set conservatively high. That inflates the CBAM cost of your products compared with competitors who can prove lower actual emissions — and makes you a less attractive supplier.
What is CBAM verification and how do you help?
An accredited verifier reviews your monitoring plan, data and calculations to confirm your reported emissions are reliable. We prepare everything end-to-end — process diagram, monitoring plan, data and documentation — exactly as we did with Kandil Steel, so verification holds no surprises.
Do you work in Arabic?
