As countries strive to achieve their national greenhouse gas emissions objectives in a cost-effective manner, an increasing number of carbon pricing regulations are being adopted. The impending entry into force of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) represents a significant milestone in the carbon pricing landscape and has the potential to accelerate this trend.

In collaboration with the University of Edinburgh Data-Driven Innovation Initiative (DDI), we worked on a case study to showcase how data can be leveraged to bring carbon pricing intelligence to businesses. The program was managed by Laura Bernal Vergara and delivered by the University of Edinburgh’s world-leading Innovation Hub for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, the Bayes Centre, supported by Barclays Eagle Labs and Edinburgh Innovations.
